Carson City Planning Commission to discuss Black Stone Ranch, other proposed zoning changes to Lompa Ranch
The Carson City Planning Commission has scheduled a meeting on Wednesday, July 26 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Community Center’s Robert 'Bob' Crowell Board Room.
The main item of discussion is about the Black Stone Ranch zoning plan.
Applicant Steve Thomsen requests that the Planning Commission give a recommendation to the Carson City Board of Supervisors concerning a tentative subdivision map known as Blackstone Ranch Phase 2.
This plan will subdivide 204 single family residential lots on a ±58.52 acre site with a minimum lot size of 6,000 square feet. The houses will be consistent with the rest of the Lompa Ranch development plan.
The location of this subdivision will be within the Lompa Ranch North Specific Plan Area at 2230 East 5th Street. The board will have the final approval of the tentative subdivision map.
Additionally, the commission will discuss other requests of recommendations to the Board of Supervisors about abandonments, new zoning ordinances and master plan amendments in the Lompa Ranch North Division areas:
— Request for recommendation to the Board of Supervisors of the abandonment of a ±47,360 square feet public access easement within the Lompa Ranch North Specific Plan Area and zoned MultiFamily Duplex. The reasoning for abandonment is to develop an approved 139 lot residential subdivision.
— Adoption and recommendation of the approval of a master plan amendment to the board to change the master plan designation from Open Space and Medium Density Residential into Parks and Recreation for a 10.15 acre parcel park site in the Lompa Ranch area.
— Request for recommendation to board concerning a proposed ordinance to change the zoning of a property within the Lompa Ranch North Specific Plan Area from Multifamily Duplex into Public Neighborhood for a 10.15 acre park site.
— Request to the board for the approval of a master plan amendment and recommendation of amendment approval to the board to change the master plan designation from Mixed-Use Residential and Mixed-Use Employment to Parks and Recreation for a 3 acre parcel park site in the Lompa Ranch Area.
— Request for recommendation of a proposed ordinance amending the zoning map to change the zoning of a property within the Lompa Ranch Area from Single Family 6,000 Square Feet and Public Regional to Public Neighborhood for a 3 acre park site.
Outside of the Lompa Ranch North Division zonings, a proposed ordinance to change zoning on a property on Fleischmann Way and an abandonment of a portion of Deer Run Road will be discussed and possibly acted on in this meeting.
