NHP identifies Reno man in fatal Carson City rollover at Goni Road

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Transportation announced that U.S. 50 across the state has been designated as Nevada’s first official U.S. Bicycle Route, joining the world’s largest network of national bike routes and expanding tourism and long-term economic potential for local communities along the route.

A Yerington man convicted in May of killing his wife who worked as a rural mail carrier was sentenced Thursday to life in prison with the eligibility for parole in 25 years, according to Lyon County District Attorney Stephen B. Rye.

There are currently 17,577 connections to the Carson City water delivery system serving 55,274 people. During winter months the city uses a rough average of 5 million gallons of treated water a day, but over a very short time in the spring that number jumps to some 21 million gallons a day with the onset of warm weather.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, they are asking for assistance in locating a tractor/trailer that was involved in a fatal crash near Winnemucca on I-80, last seen heading towards Reno.
