Carson City arrests: Man jailed for felony after giving deputy false name
A 32-year-old Mound House man was arrested early Wednesday morning for felony giving false identification to avoid prosecution, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Daniel George Ogilvie was taken into custody at 1:55 a.m. in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to a casino for a possible DUI driver. Dispatch advised the vehicle registered owner's name and said that he had an active warrant for his arrest.
A deputy arrived and located the man standing outside the door of a vehicle. The arresting officer notes he was familiar with the man and had prior contacts. The man provided a false name, and told the officer to run the name he provided and "let me go," the report states.
Dispatch confirmed the violation of suspended sentence warrant issued Oct. 29, 2019 for Ogilvie. He was read his Miranda rights and told the officer the name he provided was a family member. He was charged with using or giving false identification to avoid prosecution, a felony and the misdemeanor warrant. Bail: $11,000.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 8:10 p.m. for a failure to appear warrant out of Fernley Municipal Court, a petit larceny warrant issued out of Carson City as well as driving with an expired registration and driving on a suspended license. Bail: $1,434.
— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 7:30 a.m. in the 600 block of East John Street for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $570.
– A 41-year-old Carson City woman, Sacha Jaenicole Lennon, was arrested for a failure to appear warrant issued July 8, 2019 out of Western Regional Drug Court. She was held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 25-year-old transient was arrested Wednesday, 1:23 a.m. in the 3900 block of Centennial Park Drive for misdemeanor probation violation. According to the arrest report, a deputy was conducting a passing check through Centennial Park when he noticed a vehicle parked near the upper baseball field.
The vehicle was occupied by the man who identified himself. He stated he was living out of his vehicle and was parked for the night. Dispatch advised the man was on Alternative Sentencing and had a "no alcohol, drugs or paraphernalia" clause, the report states.
The man gave the officer consent to search the vehicle and located and empty can of beer. The man provided a preliminary breath test with a .02 result. Dispatch advised Alternative Sentencing, who advised the agency wanted him arrested for alternative sentencing violation. Bail: $3,000.
