Trump nominates Laxalt's chief of staff Nicholas Trutanich to Nevada US Attorney
RENO, Nev. — President Trump has nominated Nicholas Trutanich to be Nevada's next U.S. Attorney, the White House announced on Friday.
Trutanich is currently chief of staff for Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, and he previously worked as an assistant U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles, where he oversaw the gang and organized crime section.
"I was proud to recommend him to the President, and I am confident that he will serve the state of Nevada well as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada,” Republican Senator Dean Heller said in a statement release on Friday, July 13.
