Carson City deputies arrest man for methamphetamine possession, felony warrant
A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday night for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, violating alternative sentencing, and a warrant for obtaining money under false pretenses.
Isai Ramirez was arrested by Special Enforcement Team deputies after deputies spotted him walking west on Highway 50, and deputies knew he had a confirmed warrant for his arrest.
Deputies made contact with Ramirez and advised him of his active warrant, which was issued on June 20 for obtaining money under false pretenses and uttering a forged instrument.
Deputies went to put Ramirez in handcuffs and noticed his right hand was clenched into a fist. Deputies asked him to open his hands, and he “became apprehensive and stuttered.”
Deputies asked what he had in his hands, and he said drugs. He opened his hands and two small bags filled with what appeared to be methamphetamine fell out.
Ramirez also advised he had a “loaded needle” and two clean needles in his pockets.
Deputies removed three hypodermic needles, a knife with drug residue on it, and the baggies weighing 2.5 grams.
Dispatch advised Ramirez was on alternative sentencing with a condition to not possess drugs or paraphernalia.
He was taken into custody without issue.
