Carson City man jailed on misdemeanor threats charge

A 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday in the 100 block of Corbett Street on a misdemeanor charge of allegedly making threats, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
At 9:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area regarding a noise complaint. Upon arrival from the street the officers could hear loud music coming from an apartment. An officer met with the suspect inside the apartment who agreed to turn down the music.
About 30 minutes later officers were dispatched back to the Corbett street address where they met with a person from a nearby apartment who said that after deputies left the man began to make threats. The witness said the man began to scream at and said he was going to kill everyone in the apartment, the arrest report states.
The witness said there was a past incident when the man had a machete in his pants and was pacing back and forth outside the apartment saying he was going to kill them. After this threat the witness said they feared for their life.
Officers spoke with three other witnesses, who all said they heard the man threatened to kill them. One of the witnesses made a citizens arrest on the man for threats. Officers took the man into custody at 9:51 p.m. and transported him to jail.
While traveling to the jail, the man made numerous statements saying "when I get out you're going to have to pick me up again," and "all I said was come down here and I will kick your ass," the arrest report states.
The man blew a .25 preliminary breath test at jail. Bail: $637.
In other arrests:
A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Wednesday morning in the 700 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Officers were dispatched to a convenience store where a cab driver reported the suspect pounded on the top of his vehicle, screamed profanities and threatened him.
The suspect walked toward the officer and the cab driver identified the man as the one who caused the disturbance but then said he did not want to press charges, the arrest report states.
The suspect smelled strongly of alcohol and he spoke with the deputy, who notes that he gave the man several chances to have someone come and get him. The man refused to cooperate, yelling profanities at the officer, the arrest report states.
The officer said he spoke with the man for about 20 minutes, attempting to find him a way home. The man threw his cell phone to the ground, stomped on it and then attempted to walk away. The officer took the man into custody for disorderly conduct. He blew a .23 on a preliminary breath test and was booked into jail without incident. Bail: $242.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
