'Weird Carson City' book signing today hosted by Morley's Books
Nevada authors Sandie La Nae and Special Works Historian Arline La Ferry teamed up to present their “WEIRD Carson City” volume on Saturday at Morley’s Books.
This particular book stems from their “WEIRD” series. The duo has put together over 260 pages of jam-packed information including trivia, fun facts and interesting history about Carson City.
“It’s all about those thrills and different anecdotes all around town,” La Nae said. “It’s a fun way to examine and learn about some of the history that goes on here in Carson City.”
“WEIRD Carson City” isn’t full of text and stories, either. Dozens of pictures of historical landmarks and buildings are scattered throughout the book to give readers a visual element.
“We spent a lot of hours researching and taking pictures,” La Nae said. “I love the photos. All my books are graphic heavy because some readers like to see what they’re reading. It’s more interesting than the reader trying to visualize yourself.”
The book presentation runs from 12:30 to 4 p.m. La Nae and La Ferry will be offering special prices on each book and signing autographs.
“There’s so much history in this town and we like to talk about it,” La Nae said. “The present day is connected to history, after all.”
