Lake Tahoe in the house: Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube at MontBleu July 17

LAKE TAHOE — Rap legends Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube will be in the house at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, Saturday, July 17, making for a dynamic celebrity-filled week at Lake Tahoe, with the apex of the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament.

Known for his ultra-smooth, laidback raps and melodic rhyming, Snoop Dogg delivers iconic “double speak” lingo – adding “izzle” to his music. His success has spanned the last two decades in the rap music industry with multiple platinum albums, including hits like “Gin and Juice,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Signs” and “Beautiful.” Snoop’s career has led to a formidable television presence, with shows including Doggy Fizzle Televizzle, Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood and Dogg After Dark. He’s additionally appeared in films including "Training Day," "Old School," "Bruno," "Starsky & Hutch" and "The Boondocks."

Ice Cube will bust out hits like “It Was a Good Day” and “Check Your Self.” His solo career in music launched after leaving the rap group N.W.A — comprised of Dr. Dre, the late Eazy-E, MC Ren and DJ Yella — in 1989. He’s also been a successful actor, screenwriter and producer; highlights of his acting career include "Boyz in the Hood," "Three Kings," "Next Friday," "BarberShop" and "Are We There Yet?"

Snoop and Ice Cube’s performance coincides with the American Century Championship. Lake Tahoe’s annual celebrity golf tournament turns 21 this year, just in time to party with Snoop. MontBleu offers golf packages, giving guests a choice of 20 top courses in the Sierra at Edgewood Tahoe, Old Greenwood, Resort at Squaw Creek, Genoa Lakes and the Resort at Red Hawk. Package includes lodging and green fees: www.montbleuresort.com.

The Dogg Father of the rap industry and Ice Cube will deliver iconic beats and flows to the MontBleu Theater. General admission tickets are $49.50 plus tax and available by calling MontBleu at 800-BE-LUCKY and online at www.ticketmaster.com. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 9 p.m.

MontBleu is home to three different venues for a variety of entertainment scheduled for this summer, including House at the Lake featuring DJ Dan with Trevor Simpson, Aug. 21; Ultimate Reno Combat 15: King of the Mountain, Aug. 21; Bad Company featuring Brian Howe, Sept. 4. The MontBleu’s Theater, a plush and inviting atmosphere, is the headquarters of feature acts. Live grooves are mixed by local DJs at Opal Ultra Lounge, featuring unique cocktails and swanky ambiance, while blu nightclub brings cool party action to the hottest night with state of the art lighting and sound systems.

A pre or post show nosh can be enjoyed at MontBleu’s four restaurants: Ciera Steak + Chop House, Café del Soul, the buffet, MontBleu Café or the Zone. Whether it’s fine cuisine, Mediterranean fare, coffee, deli sandwich, a late night buffet extravaganza, or a quick bite in the Sports Book, MontBleu has a range of eateries to accommodate any budget.
