Carson City fire crews called to assist on brush fire in southern Douglas County
UPDATE: 1:10PM: The brush fire has been contained, according to East Fork Fire Protection District Deputy Fire Chief David Fogerson, as reported by KTVN Channel 2 News in Reno.
Per the Channel 2 News report, officials said the fire started after a crow came into contact with a power line.
Fire crews are now mopping up the fire, and Topaz Park Road has reopened.
The fire was burning uphill, officials said, and light winds appeared to work against the fire.

UPDATE: 11:25AM: Latest information from the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center (SFIDC) is that the fire is about two acres in size, burning through juniper, pinion pine, sage and grasses. Resources are on scene battling the blaze.
A Carson City brush engine responding to assist has been canceled.

Brush engines with the Carson City Fire Department are being called to assist with a brush fire burning in southern Douglas County along Topaz Park Road and near Topaz Lake, one mile east of U.S. Highway 395 South.
The fire was first reported at around 10:10 a.m. Saturday morning, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center in Minden.
