Carson City area road report for June 21-27

Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of June 21-27, 2021. Closures are expected at the following locations due to road and utility work:

— Clearview Drive between Oak Street and Silver Sage Drive will be closed in the westbound direction, Wednesday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm for work associated with a development project. Eastbound direction will remain open. JAC buses will be detoured.

— Minnesota Street between W. 4th Street and W. 5th Street will be closed, Thursday from 7:00am to 7:00pm for tree maintenance and construction. Please use caution and follow marked detour routes.

Lane restrictions are expected at the following locations due to road and utility work:
— Center Drive between Snyder Avenue and Carson City/Douglas County Line will have periodic lane closures with flaggers, Thursday from 7:00am to 5:00pm for coring work. Please follow any marked detour routes.

— Goni Road between Hot Springs Road and Arrowhead Drive may have lane closures, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm for an NDOT utility project. Please use caution and follow any marked detour routes.

— Northridge Drive between Eastridge Drive and Carriage Crest Drive will be reduced to one lane with flaggers, Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm for a roadway reconstruction project. There will be intermittent closures at the intersections of Northridge Drive and Carriage Crest Drive, Spooner Drive, and Southcrest Road. Please use caution and follow marked detour routes.

Carson City sheriff's investigators are asking for the public's assistance in locating a 56-year-old woman who has been reported missing.

UPDATE 5:47PM: Much of the localized flooding from the heavy rain has subsided. Winds are calm with a few lighting strikes still happening. There are no longer any severe weather warnings for Carson City.

UPDATE 5:15PM: The Tornado Warning has expired. Flooding throughout Carson City is being reported as rush hours begins. William Street from Mills Park, College Parkway, Roop Street, and Saliman all experiencing flooding issues. Much of the heavy rain has now moved on though there are several lightning strikes still around Carson City.

Carson City Fire Department was called Wednesday afternoon to a small brush fire near the Snyder Avenue overpass.

DAYTON, Nev. – RTP Company, a global manufacturer of thermoplastic molding compounds, is preparing to reopen its Dayton facility, which has sat largely empty since the company shuttered the plant in 2001. The plant is scheduled to open near the end of 2017.
