Carson City shakes with 2.8 magnitude early morning earthquake near Mexican Dam
Another series of earthquakes rolled through Carson City Sunday morning, the largest being a magnitude 2.8 recorded at around 4:30 a.m. and centered southeast of town near the Mexican Dam Road area, according to the Nevada Seismological Laboratory.
The quake and three aftershocks in the same area with a depth of 8 miles, include 1.4 quake recorded at 4:47 a.m. There have been no reports of damage, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Today's events represent at least 19 earthquakes in the Mexican Dam Road area over the past month and dozens of small quakes over the past 90 days, according to the laboratory. The largest so far is a 2.9 event on June 5.
