Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days this Friday and Saturday includes events in Carson City, Silver Springs and Yerington

Maddie’s Pet Project of Nevada will host its annual Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days this Friday and Saturday, June 11-12, with several events statewide, including adoptions in Carson City, Silver Springs and Yerington.

With funding provided by the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, all adoption fees will be waived for dogs and cats at participating animal welfare organizations across Nevada during this event.

Events will be held statewide, including Carson City at the Nevada Humane Society off Airport Road from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adoption applications are being processed online on a first-come, first-served basis. Call to make an appointment 775-887-2171. Go here for more information.

Also in Carson City is the Animal Rescue Group of Northern Nevada (ARGONN) that will host in-person and online adoptions from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at PetSmart 250 Fairview Dr, Carson City.

ARGONN will be at Lyon County Animal Services in Silver Springs, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also in Lyon County, will be events in Yerington at the Yerington Animal Shelter, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shelter is at 215 Trowbridge Lane.

Because of the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, more than 7,600 animals have found their forever homes during this event in the past three years. The upcoming event will include 47 Nevada animal welfare organizations, including both large and small animal shelters and private rescue groups, organizers say.

These organizations have the option of doing onsite adoptions as well as “virtual” adoptions which have become increasingly popular in animal welfare since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

To see all adoptable pets and to find participating locations, visit the Maddie’s Pet Project website at: www.maddiespetprojectnevada.org.

“We are thrilled to be supporting the efforts of Nevada’s animal welfare organizations through Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days event,” said Jerleen Bryant, Executive Director of the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation. “It’s been a tough year and a half for these groups, and we are excited to be able to give back and to help them find forever homes for so many animals.”
