Two NDOT surveyors hospitalized after pickup hits them south of Carson City
UPDATE 2:41PM: The two injured Nevada Department of Transportation employees who were struck by a pickup Tuesday afternoon on US-395 north of Topsy Lane were part of a surveying crew and were not in the roadway at the time of the crash, according to Nevada State Police. Their conditions are unknown at this time. The highway is open. Impairment is not suspected at this time, said Trooper Charles Caster.

Douglas County and Carson City emergency crews responded Tuesday afternoon to Topsy Lane and Highway 395 for a vehicle crash that involved two NDOT employees who were reportedly struck by a vehicle.
The crash was reported at around 1:17 p.m. A Care Flight air ambulance was ordered. One patient was flown by Care Flight and the other taken by ground ambulance, according to battalion chiefs at the scene.
The injured pedestrians are Nevada Department of Transportation workers, according to Nevada State Police.
Both patients are conscious and alert, according to Nevada State Police on scene.
Traffic has been reduced to one lane on Highway 395 north of Topsy. Motorists should avoid the area.
The cause is under investigation. Nevada State Police said a pickup was involved and at the scene. Check back for updates.
