A few slots remain for Saturday's Young Eagles Day at Carson City Airport
Registration is open with a few slots still available for the 30th annual invitation-only Young Eagles Day of flying happening Saturday, June 10 at Carson City Airport.
The event is free and open to kids ages 8-17 with registration. It is by invitation only and is only for Young Eagles who have flown with the organization before, organizers said.
On the day of the event, kids will get a pre-flight safety briefing and then get to fly in one of a variety of single engine aircraft that are owned by our Young Eagle Pilots. Organizers urge parents to ensure kids bring their log book to record their flights.
Online registration is limited to the first 80 kids that register and these slots fill up quickly. Go here to register.
Organizers will also be hosting a pancake breakfast that morning at the EAA Chapter House, located west of the terminal. Breakfast will be served from around from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m and is $9 for adults and $7 for children under age 18.
Breakfast includes all the pancakes and eggs one can eat, a helping of sausage, orange juice, coffee and bottled water. No reservation required.
