Carson City weekend activities include wine walk, spring vintage market, farmers market and fair
As social distancing and capacity limitations lift, Carson City’s social calendar is quickly filling with several local events this weekend.
The Carson City Farmer’s Market, a local favorite during the warmer months, is beginning Saturday at a new, temporary location east of the Carson Nugget in the parking lot at 412 N. Stewart Street at 8:30 a.m. More information can be found here.
Due Sorella’s Spring Vintage Market is opening its shop on Saturday at 9 a.m. at 202 N. Curry St. More information can be found here and here.
The 150th anniversary of the Capitol building will be celebrated Saturday with guided tours of the building after a brief talk about the Capitol’s history by guests’ Gov. Steve Sisolak and other state officials.
Guided tours of the Capitol will also resume with a maximum of 5 people, and no self-guided tours will be available at this time. For more information on tours and visitations visit Travel Nevada’s website.
The first Saturday of June also brings back the monthly Wine Walk from Telegraph Square to 10th Street. The event begins at 1 p.m. More information can be found here.
The Nevada State Fair is also back at Mills Park from Thursday through Sunday. More information can be found here.
The Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department is hosting National Trails Day 2021 on Saturday at Foothill Trail behind the Cancer Center at Carson Tahoe Hospital starting at 9 a.m. More information can be found here.
The Carson City Historical Society will open the exhibit, "Notable Women of Eagle Valley" on Saturday, June 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Carriage House, 1207 North Carson Street.
The Carriage House is located directly behind the Foreman-Roberts House. Many notable women are featured in the exhibit with the artwork done by local artists. The event is free and open to the public.
The Notable Women featured in the exhibit are Nellie Mighels Davis, Jo Anne Nevers, Clara Crisler, Agnes Train, Eva Lompa, Ah Kum Kee, Therese Alpetche Laxalt and Hazel Hohn.
