Small brush fire extinguished near Carson City's Stewart prison facility off Snyder
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Wednesday afternoon to a small brush fire in the area of the Stewart Conservation Camp Facility in the 1700 block of Snyder Avenue. By the time firefighters arrived, however, the fire was largely extinguished.
At around 1:10 p.m. multiple fire engines were called to the Stewart Conservation Camp prison facility for a report of a brush fire. The fire is believed to have started along a solar panel line and an electrical unit.
By about 1:20 p.m. the fire was reportedly reduced to "hot spots" and was extinguished. No inmates were on scene at the time of the fire call, Northern Nevada Correctional Center reported to Carson City dispatch.
