Carson City seeks to fill seats on Culture and Tourism Authority, Wildlife Advisory and Library Board of Trustees
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interesting in serving on the Carson City Culture and Tourism Authority, the city's Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife, and the Library Board of Trustees.
Culture & Tourism Authority
This Board oversees all tourism matters within Carson City. Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Community Center in the Sierra Room. Applicants must be willing to commit approximately six to eight hours a month.
There are two (2) positions open each for a two (2)-year term for a person who can represent “the hotel motel industry,” and one (1) position for a two (2) year term for a person who can represent the “citizen at large position.”
The Board of Supervisors will interview and appoint the qualified person to the Board.
Applicants must be a representative from a Carson City Hotel/Motel/RV Park to qualify. All members will serve without compensation. All applications submitted to this office will be considered public information.
Applications will be accepted until June 23, 2022. The Board of Supervisors will interview and appoint a qualified person to the Board. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively planned to be held at a regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on a Thursday, July 7, 2022.
Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the wildlife management board The Board manages wildlife matters within Carson City. The meetings vary in number, usually with the onset of Fishing and Hunting seasons, and could be up to six hours a month.
There are currently two (2) openings, each for a term expiring July 2025.
One of the upcoming appointments will be for a qualified person to represent the interests of a Sportsman, Rancher or Farmer. The other will be for a citizen at large. Applicants must be a registered voter as well as a resident of Carson City.

Carson City Library Board of Trustees
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Carson City Library Board of Trustees. This committee oversees all library policy and budgets. Applicants must be willing to serve approximately six to eight hours a month.
There is currently one (1) open position for a four-year term that will end in June 2026.
The Board of Supervisors will interview and appoint the qualified person to the Commission. Applicants must be a Carson City registered voter to qualify. All members will serve without compensation.
