Carson City jail inmate booked after allegedly punching inmate during dinner
A 19-year-old inmate at Carson City Jail was booked Tuesday for suspicion of battery by a prisoner, according to a sheriff's office report.
Ignacio Jonathan Zarate-Rico was booked for the incident following an investigation. According to the report, a sergeant and deputies responded to a fight in the Male General area of the jail and identified two subjects that were in a fight.
A deputy reviewed the surveillance camera and observed the victim inmate sitting down in a chair about to eat his dinner and inmate Zarate-Rico standing at the same table across from him.
The suspect quickly walked around the table and then began punching the victim in the face, the report states. Bail: $20,000.
In other arrests:
— A 66-year-old Carson City man, Gregory Bernard Johnson, was arrested Tuesday for a felony warrant alleging failure to stop at an accident with injury. Bail: $40,000.
— A 32-year-old man was arrested Tuesday at an East Long Street residence for suspicion of gross misdemeanor assault on a peace officer, obstructing and resisting and and two misdemeanor offenses: domestic battery and drawing a deadly weapon in a threatening manner. Bail: $9,048.
— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and a violation of suspended sentence warrant. Bail: $2,874.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested May 21 for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued Dec. 21, 2021 out of Dayton Township Justice Court. Bail: $1,000 cash only.
— A 71-year-old Carson City man was arrested May 22 for trespassing. Bail: $242.
— A 32-year-old woman, Patricia Wilson, was arrested Monday, 4:55 a.m. for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and obstructing and resisting arrest. Bail: $5,137.
