Carson City's first Memorial Day weekend Rockin' Rib Fest brings lip smackin' flavor, music and more
Carson City kicked off holiday festivities in a big way Saturday during the inaugural Memorial Day weekend Rockin’ Rib Fest at Casino Fandango.
Attendees sank their teeth into a variety of sizzling barbecue entrees from award-winning rib cookers, including Austin’s Texas Lightning BBQ, Chicago BBQ, and local favorite Carson City BBQ.
“Along with the friendly atmosphere, the food was absolutely tremendous,” attendee Cathy Sheehe said. “The meat was fall off the bone and I enjoyed the original sauce as well.”
Vendors and live music from The Joey Carmen Band kept the event lively to go along with the delicious food, keeping the party rocking all day on Saturday.
The Memorial Day Rockin’ Rib Fest will continue through Monday, May 28. Hours are listed below:
— Sunday, May 27: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
— Monday, May 28: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event is held on the roof-top level of the parking garage at Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson City St. Motorists should enter off Curry street.
