Traffic backed up due to chase, traffic stop involving multiple armed motorcyclists

However, northbound traffic in the valley is still closed by NHP.

Traffic is backed up as of 2:45 p.m. on I-580 near Washoe Valley following a chase and traffic stop involving multiple armed motorcyclists.

A chase began within Carson City jurisdiction involving a motorcyclist who refused to stop and allegedly tried to run deputies off the road, according to dispatch. NHP was called once they entered NHP’s jurisdiction who appear to have taken over the investigation which ended near Bellevue.

As of 2:52 p.m., detectives from Carson City have also been deployed to the incident.

Traffic is backed up at least three miles according to a deputy on scene.

While investigating the incident in Washoe, it was reported that multiple large groups of about 50-80 heavily armed motorcyclists entered Carson City, heading towards the scene.

A 39-year-old Las Vegas woman was arrested in the 2700 block of N. Carson Street for DUI first, driving with an open container, and basic speed 21-30 mph over the limit, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report states.

Three people are in custody Sunday afternoon following a demonstration at a Bernie Sanders rally in Carson City in which topless protestors interrupted the rally asking Sanders to stop propping up the dairy industry, according to The Nevada Independent.

A man who was stabbed after allegedly and possibly at random entered a Woodside Drive home late Saturday night has died, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

The Carson City Senior Center will be holding Welcome Wednesday Lunches on the third Wednesday of every month beginning February 19, at 10:30 a.m.

The Carson High School Annual Talent Show was hosted earlier this week by Carson High School's Future Business Leaders of America students, with cash prizes sponsored by Adam's Hub. Funds raised by the talent show go toward state and national competitions.

The first ever early voting in Carson City welcomed huge crowds Saturday as Democrats went to cast their ballots for this years presidential nominee.

In reaction to problems encountered in Iowa, the Nevada State Democratic Party has made significant changes to how their presidential precinct caucuses will be conducted on Saturday, February 22nd, as well as at the early voting sites through Tuesday the 18th. Those revised procedures will be the topic at the next Democratic luncheon.

A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Highway 50 and Brown Street after filing a false police report, accusing another person of kidnapping.

According to the report, deputies were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle that had been reported in connection with a possible kidnapping in the area of Highway 50 and Brown.
