Nevada's unclaimed property auction closes Wednesday
Nevada’s Unclaimed Property Division is currently holding its second online auction of 2018 with the time to bid coming to an end Wednesday.
The auction, held through www.tntauction.com, opened Monday, May 7 and will start closing this Wednesday, May 16 at 11 a.m. PDT. Bids can be placed online through 10:59 a.m. PDT Wednesday, at which time lots start closing, subject to 2 minute extended bidding.
Items up for bid come from abandoned safe deposit boxes, the contents of which, after a three-year dormancy period, must be turned over to Nevada’s Unclaimed Property Division. Once delivered, the property is held for a minimum of one year, and a maximum of two years, and is advertised in newspapers around the state prior to being eligible for auction.
“With just a few hours remaining there are some incredible finds available for collectors. This auction contains many types of coins, jewelry, and timepieces,” said Grant Hewitt, Chief of Staff, for the State Treasurer’s Office. “May’s auction has 72 lots and you could be the winning bidder on the find of a lifetime.”
Once sold, Unclaimed Property continues to hold the value generated from each property for the original owner or their heirs until claimed.
