Carson City weekend arrests: Man jailed for allegedly pointing gun at neighbors
A 58-year-old man was arrested Saturday for two felony counts of alleged assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor drawing a weapon in a threatening manner, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Stephen Gibbons was taken into custody following an investigation into the incident. According to the booking report, the suspect was in a dispute with his neighbors at a Fifth Street apartment. He allegedly grabbed a handgun, showing it at the door of one of the apartments and allegedly pointed at both neighbors. At the time of the incident the apartment was occupied by two children as well as the adults.
CCSO deputies spoke with the suspect, who said he argued with both neighbors, saying they were being confrontational and then went to his residence and grabbed his handgun. He said he initially showed them the handgun. He said one of the neighbors become irate and so he pointed the gun at both, the report states.
Gibbons was booked for 2 counts suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon (pointing his weapon a two people) and drawing a weapon in a threatening manner. The weapon was seized and booked into evidence. Bail: $20,000.
In other bookings:
— A 35-year-old female inmate at Carson City Jail was booked for allegedly throwing a tissue with urine at a department of alternative sentencing officer. Brittany Ynacay-Leonard was booked for felony attempted unlawful act related to human excrement or bodily fluid, a felony offense.
According to the booking report, the DAS officer had attempted to complete a urine sample with the suspect, was was verbally combative. The test was discontinued due to the woman's combativeness. As the DAS officer walked away, the suspect threw a tissue at her that was used in the urine test.
The incident was collaborated by a fellow DAS officer who was on scene and witnessed the incident, according to the report.
A CCSO deputy spoke to the suspect and read her Miranda warning, in which she agreed to speak. She said the tissue contained her tears and not urine. Bail: $20,000.
— A 39-year-old Reno man was arrested April 15 for a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000 cash only.
— A 22-year-old Mound House man, Jordan Gerard, was arrested April 15 for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, parole and probation violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bail hold for the parole and probation violation.
Two others were also arrested, Emily Wright, 41 of Silver City, was booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637. Also arrested was a 27-year-old woman for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Nov. 22 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 43-year-old Carson City woman was booked for a misdemeanor warrant alleging embezzlement of less than $1,200.
— A 62-year-old Mound House man was arrested April 15 for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued June 21, 2021 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $855 cash only.
— A 75-year-old Carson City woman was arrested April 15 for two outside agency warrants. One was a gross misdemeanor warrant and the other a misdemeanor warrant. Bail: $4,500 cash only.
