Two Carson City men arrested on multiple felony drug charges
Erratic behavior led to search of the suspect's Carson City apartment after he told a deputy that when 'you leave the desert, you leave with seven gods.'
Two Carson City men were arrested Saturday on multiple felony drug charges following an incident involving a postal worker.
According to sheriff's deputies, a man approached a mail carrier and offered the person methamphetamine from a glass pipe. When the carrier refused, one of the suspects followed them. Subsequently the carrier made contact with a deputy at the Carson City Sheriff's Office.
A drug enforcement team, who had prior knowledge of the suspect and drug activity at his South Harbin apartment, arrived at the building, where the suspect was standing outside. The suspect then ran inside of his apartment, according to an arrest report.
The officers made contact with the suspect and another man living in the apartment. When deputies began to speak to the suspect, they noticed that his behavior was erratic.
The suspect fidgeted with his hands, and then told deputies that when "you leave the desert, you leave with seven gods," according to the arrest report. An officer asked the suspect if he was on meth and the man denied having a methamphetamine pipe or offering the pipe to anyone.
Officers contacted a Carson City judge for a search warrant and the request was granted. Deputies entered the apartment, occupied by two of the suspects, and began the search. The studio apartment was full of large toolboxes, a motorcycle and a large dresser, shelves and cabinets. Just inside the front door was a large rolling toolbox with wood shelves on top. On top of the toolbox in plain view was a small yellow plastic baggy which contained about a half a gram of a white crystal substance that subsequently tested positive for methamphetamine.
Also, on the toolbox was a can of spray WD40. The can was discovered to be split in half into a false bottom which held a glass marijuana pipe and a metal marijuana pipe.
On the shelves by the bed officers found a plastic bag and a small piece of aluminum foil, both containing marijuana. Also on the shelf was a small wooden box which contained numerous prescription pills, including Darvocet, a controlled narcotic pain killer, four Trazadon, an anti-depressant, one Norco, a controlled narcotic analgesic, one Klonopin, a sedative.
Both men were booked into the Carson City jail.
The first suspect was booked for felony offering a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance. His bail was set at $17,500. The second man was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of prescription pills without a prescription, and possession of controlled prescription pills. His bail was set at $9,474.
