Partnership Carson City’s drug round-up for safe medication disposal returns
Partnership Carson City puts community safety first with its bi-annual Drug Round-up scheduled for Saturday, April 27, running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the proper disposal and removal of any unused and expired prescription drugs within households.
"This event is not just about disposing of medications. It's about protecting our loved ones and our environment by safeguarding our community and those most vulnerable," says Samantha Szoyka, Deputy Director of Partnership Carson City.
Partnership Carson City is committed to providing essential education on the proper disposal of unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, prescription liquids, pet medications, sharps (syringes) and more. Join Partnership Carson City and dispose of expired drugs at one of the following four convenient locations in Carson City:
— Save Mart Supermarkets at 3620 N. Carson and 4348 S. Carson St.
— Smith’s Food & Drug Store, located at 559 E. William St.
— FoodMaxx, situated at 3325 Highway 50 East.
In addition to the drop-off locations, Naloxone (Narcan) will be available. Naloxone is a safe medication that can save someone's life by reversing the effects of an opioid overdose.
