Carson City Sheriff's K9 Blue retires; had 600 deployments that resulted in 150-plus arrests
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit is proud to announce the retirement of K9 Blue. Blue is nearing nine years old and has retired after five years of service.
During his tour of duty, K9 Blue deployed more than 600 times and was directly responsible for more than 150 arrests.
He also participated in many public demonstrations, interacting with our community and children in our schools and at public events, and he recently placed 2nd in Agility at our regional K9 event. K9 Blue was known for being one of the happiest and friendliest K9s, always wearing a big smile, and he loved to be pet.
K9 Blue cruises into retirement at home with his handler, Deputy and K9 Trainer Jeff Pullen, where he will get to relax with the family and live in comfort. As he does, Deputy Pullen will continue to serve the Carson City community as our K9 Trainer, and he’s just finished training our two newest K9 members.
Look for that exciting news soon, to include pictures of the new dogs and our newest handler, and let’s all congratulate K9 Blue on his well-deserved retirement!
