Carson City sheriff’s arrest log for Wednesday

A 45-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 5:28 a.m. in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery after allegedly hitting her daughter with a wood back scratcher on the left side of her face and then punching and kicking her daughter in the stomach. Bail: $3,137.

In other arrests: A 22-year-old Carson City man, Jordyn Raiche, was arrested Wednesday, 12:19 a.m. in the area of North Carson Street and East Washington streets on suspicion of felony probation violation and three misdemeanors: driving with a suspended registration, driving without a valid driver’s license and no proof of insurance.

According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a vehicle leave the 2200 block of East William Street at a high rate of speed. The officer ran the license plate through dispatch which came back as being suspended. The officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver told the officer he did not have a driver’s license or valid proof of insurance in his possession.

A check through dispatch advised he was on parole and probation and was prohibited from being inside casinos and bars. A passenger in the vehicle said the two had been at a casino. Raiche is being held without bail pending a hearing on the felony probation violation charge. Bail on the misdemeanor charges: $1,041.

— Two people, a 26-year-old woman and 34-year-old man were arrested Tuesday, 8:51 p.m. in the 1400 block of Como Street on misdemeanor battery charges. According to the arrest report, officers were called to a residence in reference to a battery. The victim told officers that the two had come to his home and attacked him. The victim told officers the female suspect was a family friend and was invited into the home. Once inside the female suspect began yelling at the victim’s children and then the victim, the arrest report states.

The female suspect left the house and returned moments later and began banging on the door. The victim went to the door to tell her to leave and once the door was opened the victim and his wife were attacked by the pair, the arrest report states.

The female suspect was contacted in the parking lot and was extremely intoxicated, the arrest report states. She was arrested on two counts of battery. She was argumentative, belligerent and was uncooperative in the booking process, the arrest report states. Bail: $2,274. The male suspect was arrested and charged with a single count of battery. Bail: $1,137.

— A 27-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday, 10:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Goshute on a gross misdemeanor charge of child neglect. The woman was in the hospital for substance abuse and her children were in the care of her disabled parents. The grandparents were struggling to take care of the children despite their best efforts, the arrest report states.
The parents advised their daughter routinely overtakes her prescription medications that leave her at times comatose and unable to care for the children.

The previous night her parents suspect she was using meth supplied by a friend, in which she wound up on the garage floor and was taken to the hospital. Child Protective Services was called after a decision was made to remove the children from the home. The woman was taken to jail where she was suffering from drug withdraw. She was taken to the hospital and seen by an emergency room physician. She was given Fentanyl patches to aid in her withdraws. Bail: $2,500.

— A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, in the 3900 block of Village Drive on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear in traffic court, issued March 20, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $215.

— A 19-year-old Dayton man was arrested Tuesday, 6:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of Monte Rosa Drive on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to comply, issued March 25, 2015 out of Reno Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.

Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

According to the Secretary of State's Office, 65.63% of registered voters in the capital city came out to cast their ballots, the majority of which utilized early voting (44.69%), followed by mail-in ballots (43.28%), and finally rounding out the last of the voters on election day (12.03%).

While time is up for the polls, which were scheduled to close at 7 p.m., if voters were in line before the cut off they will be allowed to vote. We will update the results as they come in. Carson City polls could take a couple hours to turn in their results.

Please be aware that mail-in ballots are being accepted as long as they were postmarked by election day, today, Nov. 5. This means that we will continue to see more results in the days to come, which is anticipated and expected.

Lyon County Sheriff's Office detectives traveled to the state of Utah where they arrested Robert Richards for the murder of Sara Filiatraut. Since that time, Richards has been in custody in Utah pending extradition to Lyon County.
