19 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Quad-Counties; updates on upcoming vaccine, testing events
Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting 19 new cases and 53 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 11,928, with 11,117 recoveries and 222 deaths; 589 cases remain active.
CCHHS COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments
Starting April 5, 2021 Quad-County residents and employees ages 16 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at all Quad-County events. Currently, the only COVID-19 vaccine authorized for use in individuals ages 16-17 is the Pfizer vaccine. Janssen and Moderna are not authorized for use in those under the age of 18 at this time. When booking an appointment, the vaccine brand is included in the event title. Events are by appointment only. Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing for Quad-County Residents
Testing is for Quad-County (Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, and Storey County) residents ONLY, all others will be turned away.
Testing is free of charge, no appointments or reservations.
April 7 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Storey County Emergency Management Satellite Office located at 20 E. Street, Virginia City.
April 9 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Mills Park Seely Loop off of Saliman Road in Carson City.
