Carson City area gaming revenue climbs 6 percent in February, nearly 16 percent at Tahoe
Casinos in Carson City, Carson Valley including those in Minden, Gardnerville and all other areas of Douglas County except for the Stateline area report gaming revenue, also called "gaming win" of $9,353,780 for the month, up 6.09 percent. In February 2020, a month prior to the statewide pandemic lockdown, Carson City area casinos saw a "gaming win" of $8,816,610.
At South Shore Lake Tahoe in Douglas County, casinos took in a gaming win of $20,477,444 for the month, up 15.79 percent. North Shore Lake Tahoe "gaming win" was down around 1 percent. Elsewhere, Reno gaming revenue was down 13.72 percent, but was up 1.04 percent in Sparks. Gaming revenue along the Las Vegas strip was down 41.5 percent.
Statewide, Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $772,408,499 for the month of February 2021. This amounts to a 25.93 percent decrease compared to February 2020, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,042,742,489. For the fiscal year (July 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021), gaming win has decreased 24.60.
