Carson City man finds antler shed of mule deer known as 'The King of Carson'
Shed antler season has begun around the West with one Carson City outdoorsman having found the antlers of a very large buck known locally as the "King of Carson."
Michael Evans, who started the Capital City Mule Deer Foundation, had the buck shed featured on MuleyFreak.com, a website dedicated to deer hunting. The headline reads: "See One of the Biggest Shed Bucks of the Year." You can see more photos of the find here, along with information about the antler shed phenomenon.
The story notes recent changes regarding antler hunting regulations in Nevada. The good news for antler hunters around Carson City is that the state's regulations don't apply in Carson City county.
Evans says the Capital City Mule Deer Foundation will host its first banquet on April 28, with proceeds to go toward the rehabilitation of local areas affected by last year's fires. Go here for more information about the organization.
