Carson City motorcycle thief turns himself in to deputies, says he ‘never intended’ to steal the bike
A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested on Thursday morning after turning himself in for a felony grand larceny warrant regarding a stolen motorcycle.
According to the arrest report, Tyler Nathaniel Fowlkes arrived at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant.
The warrant was issued March 2 for an incident that occurred on Jan. 2 near Sedge Road and S. Deer Run Road in which a motorcycle was stolen.
According to Fowlkes, he “recovered” the motorcycle in the Sedge Road area and took the motorcycle to his friend’s residence. He said he did not have the intention of stealing the motorcycle, but that he was planning on entering a social media post or contact law enforcement at a later time.
He advised his friend noticed the post from the victim and returned the motorcycle before he had the opportunity to make a social media post or contact law enforcement.
When asked why he did not contact law enforcement immediately, Fowlkes said he did not know.
He was taken into custody without issue.
Bail: $5,000
