Carson City Rotary to hear guest speaker Rafael Cappucci discuss new app for emergency help
NovatechFS President and CEO Rafael Cappucci will be the guest speaker at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting.
Cappucci will discuss “My Emergency Network,” a new app developed by his company. The public is invited to attend the meeting which takes place Tuesday, March 12 at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.
The My Emergency Network app allows users to reach emergency personnel when they are with or without cellphone reception or when 911 services are down. Cappucci says it has advantages over typical means of getting emergency help.
“The application also has a silent mode where the user can initiate an automated call to the local county sheriff and relay all the details,” Cappucci said. “This is helpful in the case of an abduction or active shooter situation where the user needs to relay the information without staying on the line and having to speak.”
The app can also be customized to contact family or friends in the event of an emergency.
“Let's say you are driving across Nevada, and in an area with no cell service and you have an emergency. Using the app will get your emergency text message to 911, and it notifies anyone in your emergency contact list. This saves valuable time which could save a life,” he said.
Anyone interested in attending the meeting and learning more about the app and its uses is welcome to attend the meeting. To do so, email carsoncitynvrotary@gmail.com.
