Nevada Women’s Fund champions inspiration, inclusion in celebration of International Women’s Day
Nevada Women's Fund is proud to join the global celebration of International Women's Day on March 8. This significant day not only acknowledges the achievements and contributions of women worldwide but also underscores the ongoing pursuit of gender equality and empowerment.
The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, #InspireInclusion, recognizes the multifaceted achievements of women across social, economic, cultural and political spheres. Organizers of the global collective movement invite individuals to imagine a gender-equal world — a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
The vision resonates deeply with NWF, an organization committed to advancing women’s equality, promoting inclusion and striving towards gender parity while celebrating the accomplishments of women in Northern Nevada daily. This unwavering dedication is rooted in the organization's core values, as demonstrated by continuous initiatives aimed at empowering women through educational opportunities and career advancement.
“Nevada Women’s Fund applauds the efforts of International Women’s Day in raising global awareness about women’s issues, mirroring our ongoing commitment to make a meaningful impact throughout Northern Nevada,” stated Ila Achtabowski, President and CEO of NWF. “We remain dedicated to inspiring inclusion, championing equality and creating opportunities for women and their families.”
Established in 1982, NWF was formed to empower achievement in Northern Nevada women and families. Over 40 years, NWF has awarded more than $9.4 million to Northern Nevada women, families and non-profit community organizations. This International Women's Day, NWF celebrates its enduring legacy of uplifting women in the region, strengthening a community where the potential of every woman is realized.
