UPDATE: Western Nevada College operating remotely Wednesday except Fallon campus, CDC
UPDATE: Western Nevada College officials have changed from a delayed start to remote operations today, Wednesday, for its Carson City and Douglas campuses. However, the Child Development Center on the Carson City campus will operate from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Fallon campus will have a delayed start as originally planned and open at 10 a.m.

Due to a forecast of improving weather conditions, Western Nevada College officials have decided to delay the opening of the Carson City, Douglas and Fallon campuses and the Child Development Center on Wednesday, March 1.
The Carson City and Douglas campuses and the CDC will begin operations at 10 a.m. Due to icy conditions, Western Nevada College’s Fallon campus will also begin with a delayed 10 a.m. start.

Elsewhere, University of Nevada, Reno campuses will delay the start of nonessential campus operations until 10 a.m.
Web classes and remote operations will continue as scheduled. However, physical locations will open at 10 a.m. due to hazardous driving conditions. All in-person classes before 10 a.m. are canceled.
The Redfield campus, Building A at 18600 Wedge Pkwy., is also on a delay and will open at 10 a.m. The University of Nevada at Lake Tahoe’s Wayne L. Prim Campus has suspended in-person classes and non-essential operations.
Also, it was announced Wednesday morning that due to weather-related conditions, all schools in the Carson City School District will be closed for the entire day Wednesday.
All employees and students should remain home. No student activities, afterschool programs or practices will occur, including remote instruction. No school services such as transportation, nutrition or student health will be provided.
