Nevada gives No. 5 San Diego State a run in heartbreaker
Nevada’s chance at history fell just short in a 83-76 loss to No. 5 ranked San Diego State on Saturday at Lawlor Events Center. It would have marked the program’s first-ever regular season home win against a Top-5 opponent.
The Wolf Pack put up a physical fight until the final buzzer, but the Aztecs’ dominance on both ends proved to be too much down the stretch. Nevada held a nine-point lead at the half and trailed 79-76 with under two minutes left. San Diego State rallied on the back of junior guard Malachi Flynn.
