Carson City Supervisors, Planning Commission to discuss growth, zoning, development and more at joint meeting
On Friday, March 3 beginning at 8:15 a.m., the Carson City Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission will be holding a joint meeting at Western Nevada College in the Nugget Hall.
Meeting topics include growth management, language updates, zoning, and more during this joint work session.
The joint meeting will be tackling Title 17 of the Carson City Municipal Code, which governs the division and subdivision of land in Carson City.
Within Title 17, code and policy include development agreements, planned unit developments, common open space development, residential condominiums, and much more.
Similarly, the bodies will also discuss Title 18, which governs zoning within city limits.
Within Title 18, code and policy include use and zoning districts, including everything from mobile homes to multifamily, retail commercial to industrial, and everything in between. Title 18 also deals with the Historic District, the Downtown Mixed Use District, care facilities, and the most often discussed topic: growth management.
Much of what will be discussed are updates and clarifying language within the code, however, there are changes suggested regarding administrative reviews, parcel map approval, historic district approval, and more; all of the suggestions can be found in the work session packet.
As the Board of Supervisors alone, without the Planning Commission, a discussion and possible action will be held regarding an overview of lodging, including hotels and motels, operating in Carson City.
The entire agenda can be found here.
