Pair jailed on felony drug trafficking charges; heroin, 1.3 ounces of meth seized
Two people were booked Friday into Carson City jail on felony drug trafficking charges after officers found seven grams of heroin and 1.3 ounces methamphetamine inside a stolen vehicle, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested were Anthony James Delacorte, 30, of Las Vegas and Shonae Danielle Thacker, 28, of Carson City. Each were booked on suspicion of felony trafficking of level 3 and level 1 controlled substances, possession with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Delacorte also faces a felony charge of possession of a stolen vehicle. His bail was set at $313,637. Thacker’s bail was set at $288,637.
According to the arrest report, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy was doing routine patrol on North Edmonds Drive when he ran a Colorado license plate at 11:34 a.m. that came back as a stolen vehicle.
About an hour later, the deputy conducted a high risk stop of the vehicle and told the suspects to step out with their hands up. The driver was Delacorte and passenger was Thacker, according to the arrest report.
During the vehicle inventory, a bag of methamphetamine, weighing approximately 1.3 ounces was found, along with heroin that amounted to around 7 grams, according to the arrest report.
Some of the methamphetamine was packaged individually, consistent with sales, the arrest report states. Both Delacorte and Thacker had drug paraphernalia on them when they were searched, the report states. They were arrested at 1:32 p.m.
Both remained in jail on Sunday.
