'Fool Around' to benefit the historic Genoa Town Hall with food and wine pairing event
Help support the historic Genoa Town Hall — and learn about how to pair wine and food in the process.
Foolin’ around in Genoa is a Wine and Food Pairing event catered by Sierra Chef, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Genoa Town Hall.
The event takes place Sat. April 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Genoa Town Hall, located at 2287 Main Street.
The Genoa Town Hall was built in 1886 as the Raycraft Dance Hall, and was purchased from resident Annie Raycraft in 1941 by the town of Genoa.
Beginning in 1919, the famous Candy Dance was held in the Town Hall until it outgrew the 240-person capacity.
Repairs and renovations to the space have been made over the years thanks to community donations and community labor, including the addition of a bar from the Old Globe Saloon in Carson City, installed in 1984, following the installation of a new porch in 1977.
General admission to the Wine and Food Pairing event is $100. Click here to purchase tickets and learn more.
