Carson City arrests: Man booked for alleged battery with deadly weapon, home invasion
A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday for suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon and home invasion, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Eduardo Esoutia De Paz was taken into custody following an incident at an Otha Street residence where a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy had, earlier, attempted to serve a temporary protection order on him.
The suspect was found, detained, interviewed and later arrested after a situation at the residence where he allegedly broke into the home he had been living in when he discovered locks had been placed to the private entrance.
The locks were changed by the reporting party due to the protection order that was filed. The arresting deputy had been at the residence earlier in an attempt to serve the temporary protection order. The suspect allegedly kicked the door in that went to a private room he had occupied, according to the report.
While inside, the suspect allegedly got into a physical altercation with two people inside, a male and female. The suspect allegedly used a bread cutting knife that was sitting on the kitchen counter that he told CCSO deputies was used in self defense. The male reporting party was lightly cut in the scuffle, receiving a 4-inch injury to the lower back, the report states.
The reporting party estimated the damage to the doors the suspect allegedly kicked in as around $500. The suspect was booked for suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon and home invasion. Bail: $30,000.
