Carson City woman recovering after hit and run accident; authorities search for driver
A hit and run accident sent a Carson City woman to the hospital by Care Flight Sunday night and authorities are now looking for the driver who hit her.
The 20-year-old Carson City woman was flown by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno. She is said to be slated for release later after suffering injuries from the accident, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.
The woman was found semi-conscious in the road at Stewart and David streets by a passerby at 5:37 p.m. on Sunday. No one saw the victim being hit by a vehicle, however injuries sustained show the woman was struck, authorities said.
Deputies had been unclear early in the investigation as to whether she was hit by a vehicle because there was no evidence on the street of a collision or skid marks. The investigation later confirmed, however, that she was indeed hit by a vehicle that was traveling between 20 to 25 mph, authorities said.
