Carson City deputies make multiple DUI and drug arrests over weekend

An 18-year-old woman was arrested Friday for suspicion of DUI, minor consuming and open container in a vehicle after apparently spinning donuts and getting stuck in a ditch, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
At around 6:45 a.m. deputies were called to the 5th Street Trail Head on Carson River Road in reference to an accident. A reporting party said a sedan crashed through fence into a ditch and that a woman was inside a vehicle slumped over.
A deputy arrived and located a woman in the driver seat passed out. An open bottle of wine was on the front seat. The vehicle was running and in gear but stuck in a ditch on the east side of the parking lot.
Deputies made contact with the driver and could immediately smell and odor of alcohol on her person and observed her eyes to be red and watery. The deputy questioned the woman on how the circumstances came to be. She advised she didn't want to go home and had been driving around in her car all night. She mentioned she took a turn in the parking lot too wide and hit the fence. She said she had been stuck there for several hours and her phone was dead.
She was asked if she had been drinking alcohol. She stated she had not.
A deputy initiated standardized field sobriety tests where she showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test of .138. She was arrested for suspicion of DUI. She later advised she was spinning donuts in the parking area of the trail head when she crashed through the fence and into the ditch. Bail: $1,529.
In other arrests:
A 66-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday morning for suspicion of two counts possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the booking report and deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for not having a functional license plate light. The officer spoke with the driver, Bryan Lamb, who was sweating and acting nervous. He provided identification and insurance. During the investigation, a K9 was deployed for an open-air sniff around the vehicle.
The K9 alerted positive. during a search of the vehicle deputies found psilocybin mushrooms in the center console. The man was read his Miranda rights and he agreed to speak. He told the officer he did not know where the mushrooms came from and denied being the owner of them. While searching the man, deputies located approximately 2 grams methamphetamine and a small amount of methamphetamine in a front coin pocket. Bail: $2,500.
— A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 3:53 a.m. for suspicion of violation of bail/pre-trial supervision. The woman was intoxicated with a Department of Alternative Sentencing court order not to drink alcohol. She was taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital for medical clearance due to her high intoxication level and booked into jail for violation. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 34-year-old man was arrested Saturday, 2:58 p.m. for suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing. According to the booking report, a CCSO officer responded to the 1400 block of Rand Avenue in Carson City regarding a traffic stop. The deputy arrived and observed a male subject yelling. A sergeant advised the man was not involved in the stop and was a passerby who had two needles in his hands and was yelling.
The man was told to place the needles on the ground. He would not comply. Deputies attempted to place into handcuffs and he began resisting. Handcuffs were successfully placed on the man. He was booked for obstructing a public officer. Bail: $412.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man, Oscar Kevin Flores was arrested Saturday, 7:48 p.m. for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Bail: $2,500.
— A 31-year-old Carson City man, Rodolfo Maciel-Samano, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of DUI, driving with a suspended license and felony possession of a controlled substance. According to the booking report a deputy observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop, going halfway into a crosswalk at Airport Road and College Parkway at around 1 a.m.
The man was the sole occupant. The deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. He provided his license, registration and insurance. He was asked if he had been drinking. The man replied he had not. The license was run, which came back as suspended for failure to appear on a traffic violation, the report states.
The man agreed to a field sobriety test, which he showed signs of impairment on all the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .076. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. During the inventory for tow on the vehicle, the officer located a plastic bag of illegal mushrooms inside. At jail he provided preliminary breath tests of .059 and .055. Bail: $2,500.
— A 61-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI.
According to the booking report, a Carson City sheriff's deputy observed a vehicle in the number three traffic lane at US-50 East and I-580 overpass fail to maintain its lane of travel, crossing the fog line to the right-hand side of the lane. The vehicle changed lanes into the number two lane after crossing Lompa Lane and it failed to maintain its lane of travel, crossing over the lane line from the number one to number two lanes.
The deputy activated their overhead lights at the intersection of US-50 East and Airport Road. The vehicle continued eastbound. The deputy activated their siren, with the vehicle pulling into a parking lot on US-50 East.
The driver and sole occupant, opened the door. The deputy instructed the driver to remain in the vehicle. The driver identified himself with a license. The officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person and breath and had red, watery eyes, the report states. He was asked if he had been drinking. The man replied he had and stated he had about two or three at a bar. He agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests, the report states. He provided a preliminary breath test of .210 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He provided an evidentiary blood test at jail. Bail: $1,137.
