WNC hospitality workshop keys on enhancing guest services
Western Nevada College will offer a hospitality skills workshop on Saturday, Feb. 8, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Carson City. Participants can learn guest service skills in the Guest Service Gold Workshop, to become a more valuable employee in today’s competitive job market.
Completion of the three-hour workshop can lead to a Certified Guest Service Professional designation. For employees in the hospitality industry, CGSP is recognized worldwide and is the highest designation of award-winning guest service.
"We're pleased to be able to offer certification classes from the American Hotel and Lodging Association through our Tourism and Hospitality Career Center," said WNC Director of Economic Development David Steiger. "Our lodging industry partners have reported a need for professional front desk staff. The Front Desk Attendant course is a great first step for those planning a hospitality career."
Linda Barnett, director of operations for Eagle Hospitality Company, will instruct the class. Fee is $39 and will include materials and certification. The final hour of the workshop is earmarked for certification.
Registration and payment with a credit card can be completed online at www.campusce.net/wnc or phone 775-445-4268. The Hampton Inn and Suites is located at 10 Hospitality Way in Carson City.
