Douglas Sheriff: Suspect who confronted Walmart security with gun arrested for robbery
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in connection to a robbery last month at the Walmart store near the Carson City, Douglas county line in which the suspect reached for a handgun in a confrontation with store security.
On Tuesday, January 10, 2023 the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, following the release of a surveillance photo Jan. 4, 2023, was able to identify the suspect as Curtis Brahic.
Brahic is accused of committing a robbery at the Walmart in Northern Douglas County on Dec. 30, 2022. According to the sheriff's office, during the course of the investigation, information was provided indicating Brahic was staying at a hotel in Reno.
Brahic was seen at this hotel and subsequently arrested. Brahic was booked into the Douglas County Jail in Minden and charged with armed robbery. His bail was set at $25,000.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank the public for their assistance in this case. It was a tip from a citizen that allowed deputies to identify and subsequently locate Brahic.
“With the help of the community, we were able to take a dangerous person off the streets and put him in jail where he deserves to be. Thank you,” said Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley.
