Highway 395 from Bridgeport to 13 miles north of Bishop remains closed as of early Wednesday morning due to hazardous road conditions from the heavy snow and wind. Caltrans District 9 continued plowing and clearing snow from the highway overnight. Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol will reassess for reopening later this morning.
U.S. 6 in Bishop is open as a detour around the closure for vehicles traveling from Bishop to Minden/Carson City/Reno. Check quickmap.dot.ca.gov and nvroads.com for the latest on road conditions.
Several Mono County roads, including Benton Crossing Road, remain closed as well. For the latest on those, visit https://monocounty.ca.gov/roads.
Meanwhile, Caltrans opened I-80 to passenger vehicles last night after it had been closed for most of Tuesday from Colfax to the Nevada state line due to the weather. Chain controls are still in effect.
