Carson City arrests: Two booked for child endangerment after meth found in vehicle
Two women were arrested Jan. 5 for alleged child neglect/endangerment and drug offenses following a felony traffic stop for parental abduction, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Shalece Renelle Davenport, 26, of Flint, Texas and Eleanor Maria Games-Castro, 41, of Fort Worth, Texas were taken into custody following a traffic stop at South Roop Street and Randell Drive in Carson City.
According to the booking report, CCSO deputies were dispatched to the 3700 block of South Carson Street regarding a non-custodial parental abduction of a child by his mother, Gamez-Castro. Deputies were alerted that the suspect vehicle was being driven by a friend, identified as Davenport.
The vehicle was located and a felony car stop was made. Both women exited the vehicle and were handcuffed by deputies on scene. The child was located in the back seat of the vehicle and taken to the hospital for medical clearance, according to the report. Child Protective Services was contacted and took custody of the child.
A K-9 was deployed to do a sniff of the vehicle and alerted positive for drugs. A search was done, where deputies located methamphetamine and paraphernalia between the two women near where the child was located in the back seat. Both women were booked for suspicion of felony child neglect/endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $40,000 each.
In other arrests:
— A 59-year-old woman was arrested Monday for suspicion of a third DUI. According to the booking report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the sedan failing to dim high-beams to oncoming traffic. The sole occupant and driver identified herself as Kimberly Kohler. While speaking the woman slurred her speech and the deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person, the report states.
The woman failed to successfully complete standardized field sobriety tests. She voluntarily submitted to a preliminary breath test with a .256 result, according to the report. At jail she consented to having her blood taken for evidentiary testing. Bail: $20,000.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for two misdemeanor counts possession of drug paraphernalia, a meth pipe and a "tooter" straw, commonly used for inhaling narcotics. Bail: $1,137.
— A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor possession of stolen property, no valid registration and no proof of insurance. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle with a stolen Nevada license plate.
The driver was asked how long he had been driving his car for and he stated three months. He was read his Miranda warning and chose not to speak. He was booked for possession of stolen property because he was driving a vehicle he claimed he owned for the past three months and was driving it around with a stolen plate and not his own registered plates, the report states. Bail: $2,500.
— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Reno Justice Court. He was also booked for probation violation, for being under the influence of alcohol, which was a violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing conditions. Bail: $6,000.
— A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor failure to appear in court warrant issued in February 2022. Bail: $500.
