Caltrans: US-395 through Mono County now fully open
U.S. 395 is now fully open in Mono County with chain control restrictions. For road condition updates check quickmap.dot.ca.gov for the latest on road conditions. You can also check roads.dot.ca.gov or call 1-800-427-7623.
UPDATE: The parameters of the closure on U.S. 395 have changed. The highway is now closed from Lee Vining to Bridgeport due to white out conditions and a snow slide, according to Caltrans.
As a reminder, Caltrans asks drivers to respect the closure points on U.S. 395 and not attempt to use side roads to get around them, even if directed by navigation software. U.S. 6 in Bishop remains open at this time.
Also in California, chains are required over Highway 50 Echo Summit from Meyers to west of Strawberry and on I-80 over Donner Pass, from Floriston to Cisco Grove.
Elsewhere on the Nevada side, NDOT reports chains requirements Thursday morning on Highway 50 West over Spooner Summit, State Route 207 Kingsbury Grade and State Route 431 Mt. Rose Highway. For the latest Nevada road conditions see NVroads.com or call 511.
