Carson City Sheriff's Office dispatcher leaves shift early, welcomes baby boy
A Carson City Sheriff's Office dispatcher, who was working New Year's Eve night, had to leave her shift early for an expected emergency of her own: The birth of her child.
Dispatcher Aubrey Born gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 9:22 p.m. Sunday at Carson Tahoe Hospital after her water broke while working on shift, leaving the communications center with the help of a family member at around 6 p.m.
The boy's name hasn't been determined yet. He was born 6 pounds, 8 ounces. Aubrey, who is also doing well, was joined by their son's father, Brandon. The couple also have a son, Bentley.
The new baby boy is believed to be the last child born in northern Nevada before the new year.
Congratulations to the family! We will share photos when they become available. Stay tuned to find out who is or will be the first baby born in 2024.
