Carson City emergency crews called to brush fire in area of Airport Road and Shriver Drive

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Tuesday night to a brush fire in the area of Airport Road and Shriver Drive.
Multiple 911 calls came into dispatch shortly before 8 p.m. regarding the brush fire. Arriving Carson City sheriff's deputies on scene report seeing flames and the fire growing. First responding firefighters report a 10 by 20 foot fire with a few bushes burning.
The fire was under control by 8:05 p.m. according to a battalion chief on scene.
Callers told dispatch the cause of the fire may have been fireworks set off in the area.
Traffic has been blocked at Airport Road and Florentine. People are advised to stay out of the area.
