Memory Café at Kids & Horses offers a unique experience for individuals with dementia and their care partners
Kids & Horses is so excited to offer a new program for the community. Our Memory Café is designed for individuals living with dementia and their care partners. With trained and experienced staff and volunteers, we provide a safe and relaxing environment for our guests to experience fun activities, connect with others and build meaningful friendships, and of course, enjoy time with our therapeutic horses.
This program is free and is currently held on the 4th Monday of the month from 10am-11:30am. Each café will offer a chance for our guests to interact with our equine pals! This is what makes Kids & Horses so unique from other Memory Cafés. The human/horse connection is a powerful way to help reduce stress, regulate emotions, build social connections, provide simple physical exercise, and provide cognitive stimulation.
The format of each Memory Café is loose enough so that individuals can participate to their level of comfort. There will always be an activity, delicious refreshments, and as long as the weather conditions are permitting, a visit with the horses. Each café also hosts a community guest who is there to provide valuable information about resources in the community.
Join us for our next Memory Café scheduled for November 25th. RSVP to secure your spot, as space is limited to 20 guests total. See for yourself why we already have so much excitement and praise for this program after just our first session! We can't wait to see you there.
