Ideas on Tap: The History and Culture of Native Americans
Ideas on Tap is back at the Union Eatery and Brewery, 302 North Carson Street, on Wednesday, November 10, starting at 6 pm, recognizing The History and Culture of Native Americans, also known as American Indians and Indigenous Americans, are the indigenous people of the United States.
As a result, Native Americans have made valuable contributions to American culture, particularly in the areas of language, art, food, and government. "Paying tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans is so important", says Mike Smith, Ideas on Tap organizer and facilitator.
This humanities based discussion will dive deeper in the important contributions made by Native Americans, and why Native American History Month is recognized and rightfully so celebrated! Our guest panelists include:
— Stacey Montooth, Executive Director of the Nevada Indian Commission Stewart Indian School (Walker River Paiute)
— Maria McDade Williams (Western Shoshone, South Fork Band)
— Fredina Drye Romero (Southern Paiute, Kaibab Band of Paiutes)
This month's Ideas on Tap is sponsored by Farmers Insurance-The Jackson Bohl Agency.
