Carson City BAC's Musicale at The Maizie features Joe Kaplow and Greg Gilmore
Headliner Joe Kaplow’s music comes from life’s moments — smelling 4 acres of freshly cut grass, watching the steam from a horse’s breath in the early morning, finally holding the neck of a guitar after holding bridles and worn wooden handles all day. Joe’s aim is simple; slow and steady; keep it fun,and stay engaged. All for the moment when the song finally sounds right.
Opening act Greg Gilmore is a bit like a caption of a time gone, but not forgotten. A self-taught, nationally touring troubadour bearing a self-lit torch informed by the rock’n’roll and songwriting days of yore. With influences from Dylan to Willie, Petty to Orbison, Gilmore attempts to apply his own kindling to a smoldering flame. While he would never utter it himself, some have called Gilmore the Earnest Hemingway of songwriting. Not because of his keen sense of prose, rather you can generally spot him with a pen in one hand and a drink in the other.
Doors open at 6:30. Show begins at 7pm. Arrive through the Artisan Gallery entrance of the Brewery building. All Ages Welcomed.
